Fresh domestic Japanese mackerel is marinated in cottonseed oil while still fresh, and seasoned with traditionally brewed soy sauce from Miyagi Prefecture and raw sugar from Kikaijima, Kagoshima Prefecture, which is rich in minerals and gives it a deep flavour.
It has almost no "mackerel smell" that people who don't like blue fish dislike. Because it is fresh, it goes well with raw vegetables, unlike other canned mackerel, and if you add it to a salad, you can deliciously get the nutrients of both vegetables and fish at the same time.
